Family relaxing on a couch at home in Tampa, FL

Tampa homes stay closed up most of the year, and every cubic foot of air you breathe runs through one system. That means the coil, the filter, and the humidity level decide what your air is actually like — dust, pollen, musty smells, and that clammy feeling that never quite goes away.

Indoor air quality work treats the air path itself: a UV light sterilizing the coil, filtration that catches what a standard filter misses, and humidity control for the homes where the AC alone can’t keep up. No magic boxes, no scare tactics — we test what’s going on first, then recommend only what your home actually needs.

How an air quality assessment works

It starts with a visit: we look at the indoor coil for microbial buildup, check what filter setup you have and whether it’s choking airflow, and measure indoor humidity room by room. Tampa humidity feeds coil growth year-round, so the coil tells us a lot.

You’ll get a straight report: what we found, what it means for your air, and what it costs to fix — from a UV light to a whole-home purifier to a dehumidifier. Not every home needs all three. Most need one. We’ll show you the coil and the readings and let you decide.

“A UV light sterilizes your coil. It is NOT a filter, and no magic box fixes bad air by itself. I’ll show you the coil and tell you straight what you need — and what you don’t.”

Air problems we solve

When the air in the house is the problem, here’s what it usually looks like.

Musty smell from the vents

Musty supply air usually means microbial growth on the indoor coil or in the drain pan — Tampa humidity feeds it year-round. A UV light mounted at the coil kills it continuously, and a proper coil cleaning handles what’s already there.

Dust everywhere, all the time

If you’re dusting constantly with a clean filter, your filter isn’t catching enough. A media filter cabinet or whole-home purifier catches the fine stuff a standard 1-inch filter lets straight through — without choking airflow the way a too-tight filter does.

House feels clammy at 74 degrees

That’s humidity, not temperature. An oversized AC that short-cycles never runs long enough to dehumidify, so the house feels sticky even when it’s cool. Sometimes the fix is equipment sizing; sometimes it’s a whole-home dehumidifier. We measure first and diagnose which one.

Pollen and odors recirculating

Every time the system runs, it recirculates whatever’s in the air. A whole-home purifier treats all of it, every cycle — unlike a portable unit that only covers one room. Cooking smells, pet dander, and Tampa pollen all go through the same system, so treating the system treats the house.

Stuffy rooms that never feel fresh

Sealed-tight homes don’t get enough fresh air exchange. A ventilation or fresh-air intake setup brings in filtered outside air on purpose, instead of the house pulling it in through every crack and gap. Fresher air, without the humidity penalty.

What an air quality visit looks like

1. Assessment. We inspect the coil, check your filter setup, and measure humidity room by room.
2. Straight report. Photos of the coil, plain-English explanation, and priced options — no package-deal pressure.
3. The work. Most installs finish in a day. We show you the finished setup and how to maintain it.
4. Verified difference. We recheck humidity and airflow before we leave so you feel the change, not just hear about it.

Indoor air quality services

The honest pricing part: air quality work is priced by what your home needs, and we show you the coil and the readings before quoting. A UV light is one price; a purifier and dehumidifier together is a bigger project and we’ll itemize it. What we won’t do is sell you all three when one would solve it. And right now a UV light is FREE with every new system installation.

Questions & Answers

What does a UV light actually do?

It’s mounted at the indoor coil, where Tampa’s humidity grows microbial buildup year-round. The UV-C light sterilizes that growth continuously — cleaner coil, cleaner supply air, fewer musty smells. And right now it’s FREE with every new system installation.

Does a UV light replace my air filter?

No — different jobs. Your filter catches dust and particles; the UV light sterilizes the coil surface. You still change filters on schedule. A home with a UV light and a neglected filter still has dirty air — the two work together, not instead of each other.

Will an air purifier help with dust and smells?

A whole-home purifier treats every cubic foot the system moves, every cycle — dust, pollen, pet dander, and odors included. A portable unit only covers one room. If the whole house is dusty or smells stale, the whole-home unit is the one that actually solves it.

Why is my house humid even when the AC runs?

Usually one of two things: an oversized system that short-cycles and never runs long enough to wring moisture out, or a system that just can’t keep up with Tampa humidity. We measure and diagnose which one — the fixes are different, from sizing to a whole-home dehumidifier. Read more in our humidity and AC sizing guide.

Do I need new ductwork for better air?

Usually not — treatment and ducts are different jobs. If your ducts are crushed or leaking, that’s a ductwork problem and we’ll say so honestly and point you to our ductwork page. But if the ducts are sound, a UV light, filtration, or dehumidification solves the air without touching a single duct.

How much does indoor air quality work cost?

It depends on the setup — a UV light alone is one price, a purifier plus dehumidifier is a bigger project. We give free same-day estimates with the coil photos and readings, itemized, so you see exactly what each piece costs before deciding anything.
